Whoever said design has to happen in one room? International design collective Outofstock collaborates across continents in such a way that we think remote design may be the field’s greatest trend. But Outofstock is anything but trendy. It was the timelessness of their Biscuit Stool that caught Jean-Marie Massaud’s eye, because timelessness not only saves trees—it looks good, too. Now Environment produces this unassuming little gem in two different woods: Ash and Black Walnut responsibly harvested from American family owned forests. A bit like our Shaker inspired Wheel Table, the Biscuit Stool is appealing for its, well, not-too-stuffy sophistication. Sometimes paradoxes can be simple. Manufactured in the USA.
