Los Angeles, Calif. (February 10, 2010) – Today Jean-Marie Massaud announced his first designs for Environment Furniture, as the brand’s new Creative Director, will be debut at this year’s Salone Del Mobile Milan from April 14-19, 2010. Massaud’s will be presenting new types of responsible and desirable objects, conceived by himself as well as a smart guest designer, Marc Berthier. This collection will include a lighting series, a shelving system, coffee table, armchair and vases.

True to the Environment philosophy and the current collection, Massaud’s creations will maintain the brand’s commitment to environmental responsibility and will be crafted from sustainable materials. A signature feature of Massaud’s collection for Environment will be the theme of lightness – both literally and figuratively. Whether using reclaimed materials (a familiar trait of the Environment brand) or designing pieces of unparalleled quality with less matter (to reduce overall carbon footprint from sourcing to distribution), Massaud’s collection will reflect the state of mind of a design and environmentally-conscious consumer.

“This collection is poised to completely reinvent the way we think about sustainable design. We hope to leave a lasting impression of quality, functionality, and real purpose – I can think of no better way for Environment to premiere in Milan,” said Davide Berruto, CEO of Environment Inc.
“When the same issues that pose constant challenges can be seen as opportunities, a real potential is created to motivate a more visionary and pertinent creativity,” said Jean-Marie Massaud, Creative Director for Environment. “I believe that true progress occurs through behavioral and cultural innovation.”

Environment will be showing in Milan’s Zona Tortona, on Via Tortona 31 from April 14-19, 2010.
