I am a subscriber to the EcoStileto newsletter, so after seeing the contest advertisement on the site, I joined your newsletter as well. Plus Environment Furniture is my boyfriends favorite furniture store. He is an on-set dresser so was very familiar with the store already.

CAN YOU SAY IN A FEW WORDS WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ENVIRONMENT? (you can talk about the designs but also the mission of the company and our philosophy)

The furniture at Environment is absolutely amazing and impeccable – from the simple design, complex and sturdy construction and the reclaimed wood is unbelievably beautiful. You can see how much age is in the wood which gives you a feeling of living in a natural surrounding. I am just over the moon about my new bed. It makes me smile.

SINCE WHEN HAVE YOU BEEN OPEN TO ECO-FRIENDLY PRACTICES IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE?

I’ve always been interested in being eco-friendly in “theory” for the most part. But I think my REAL interest began when the magazine Dwell started publication. I became a subscriber right away! Since then I remain in the hopes of one day owning a pre-fab house or at least living in a green sustainable dwelling. But I would say as far as taking real action and practicing green living was when I purchased my first Prius in 2003. From there, recycling and green purchase choices became part of my every day living.

WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE FIRST IN THE WORLD IF YOU HAD "SUPER POWERS"?

If I had super powers the first thing I would change in the world would be to purify our air quality. I think that is a universal problem and something I think we should all have.

ANY SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS FOR 2011?

My main resolution for myself is to continue living good and pure. Just follow the natural path and believe in the cycle of the universe. Cause and effect.
