The work is based in photography but combined with traditional paint media in reference to the sublime painters of the 19th century. I am interested in the promotion of the natural environment as a repository of introspective thought and for the advancement of conservation. Viewers with a strong sense of history move the images beyond their specific geography to a place born of personal memory. By this measure the work does not exist in the real world but is dependant upon the viewers’ context to achieve its sense of place. |
